Project Coordinator NGS Media Group and Diamond Mill Music:
Ron Short got his start in music on the drums at age 5. By the time he gave his heart to the Lord at age 13, he had added guitar, bass and piano to his list of talents. Ron began traveling with his first part time group, The Bread of Life, at age 14, and then teamed up with his cousins and an uncle to form The Freedom Band. In the late 90’s Ron joined the regionally known Lighthouse Express. This lineup, later known as Heartfelt Ministries, enjoyed national chart success and won regional awards. Ron later met Denny and Marie Riddell while playing studio sessions and began to assist them in their Singing Ministry. This Ministry continued to grow and eventually became, and still is, full-time. Ron has been blessed to experience the many facets involved in Gospel Music and has worked along side some of the most talented and anointed players and singers.
“I have learned so much from all of the people I have worked for and with. I am thankful to have been involved with Gospel Music for 30 years. I have been a roadie; played drums, piano, bass, lead guitar, rhythm guitar, organ, banjo, and saxophone on stage at one point or another; been a sound tech., sound man, motor home driver/mechanic, navigator, and road mgr.; been a session player, session leader, assistant engineer, songwriter, music composer, arranger, project coordinator, and producer; been a Sunday School Teacher, Preacher, Evangelist, Minister of Music, and an Assistant Pastor. Now, with all of this life experience, my goal is to help Music Ministries in the OH, KY, and IN region develop into what God wants them to be.”
